Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a large UK Facilities Management organisation, supporting a key public sector contract based in North West London. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy, essential services environment, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of mechanical systems across a multi-building estate.

You will play a vital role in maintaining building services infrastructure, ensuring all mechanical systems are safe, efficient, and fully compliant with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and fault diagnosis across a wide range of mechanical systems and building services equipment. This will include HVAC systems, heating and cooling plant, pumps, pipework, and associated mechanical infrastructure.

Working as part of a multi-skilled FM team, you will ensure that all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard, with minimal disruption to essential public services.

You will be expected to respond to breakdowns in a timely manner, diagnose faults efficiently, and implement effective repairs while maintaining strong attention to safety and compliance at all times.

In addition, you will ensure all work is fully documented in line with site procedures and statutory requirements, supporting audits and compliance reporting where required.

About You
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within facilities management, building services, or a similar environment. A strong understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance practices is essential.

You will be proactive, reliable, and confident working within a public sector or highly structured operational environment. Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to manage a varied workload are key to success in this role.

Experience within public sector, healthcare, or large multi-site estates would be highly advantageous.
