Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £50,000

Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a large UK Facilities Management organisation, supporting a key pharmaceutical contract based in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated, critical environment where compliance, precision, and reliability are essential to site operations.

You will play a key role in maintaining and servicing mechanical systems across the site, ensuring all equipment and infrastructure is operating safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with strict pharmaceutical industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and fault diagnosis across a range of mechanical systems and building services equipment. This will include HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, pressurised systems, and associated mechanical plant.

Working as part of a multi-skilled FM engineering team, you will ensure minimal downtime across critical areas of the site, responding promptly to breakdowns and carrying out effective root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.

You will also ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, health & safety regulations, and site compliance procedures. Accurate documentation and reporting will be a key part of the role due to the regulated nature of the environment.

In addition, you will support continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to energy efficiency, system reliability, and overall operational performance across the contract.

About You
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within facilities management, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments. A strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, and building services maintenance is essential.

You will be detail-focused, safety-conscious, and confident working within strict compliance frameworks. Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure are key to success in this role.

Experience working within GMP-controlled environments would be highly advantageous.

What We Offer
- £50,000 salary
- Opportunity to work on a high-profile pharmaceutical contract
- Stable, long-term role within a leading UK FM organisation
- Exposure to a highly regulated critical environment
- Strong career development and training opportunities
