Contract/Project
We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager for a major civil engineering project.
Site Manager Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.
* Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, site operatives, plant, and materials.
* Quantify materials from drawings and raise material requisitions.
* Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide on-site delivery.
* Proactively raise and track RFIs/ EWN and raise internal CE paperwork.
* Ensure all groundworks activities (excavation, drainage, concrete works, foundations, roads, etc.) are delivered to specification, with all QA records kept up to date.
* Maintain accurate daily site records and progress updates.
* Promote health and safety compliance, delivering toolbox talks, inductions, and briefings on method statements and risk assessments.
* Liaise with clients, contracts managers, engineers, and senior management to provide updates and resolve issues.
* Oversee site logistics including deliveries, materials handling, and waste management.
* Ensure plant and machinery are used safely and maintained properly.
* Prepare and write method statements, risk assessments, and QA documentation as required by the Principal Contractor.
* Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
* Background in commercial or infrastructure groundworks.
* Civil engineering qualification or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or equivalent).
* Must hold SMSTS.
