talentED recruiters are proud to be supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in Salisbury in their search for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA, an aspiring teacher looking to gain further classroom experience, or a qualified teacher seeking a role focused on intervention work and pupil development.

The Role

You will be supporting a large KS2 class of approximately 35 pupils, working closely with the class teacher to ensure all pupils receive the support and challenge they need to succeed.

A significant part of the role will involve delivering targeted intervention sessions and leading small group work across a range of subjects, helping pupils build confidence, close learning gaps and achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting teaching and learning within a KS2 classroom

*

Planning and delivering small group interventions

*

Working with pupils of varying abilities, including those requiring additional support

*

Supporting behaviour management and promoting positive learning attitudes

*

Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

*

Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources

*

Covering lessons where appropriate and leading learning activities

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

*

Have previous experience working within a primary school setting

*

Hold HLTA status or demonstrate equivalent experience

*

Have a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum

*

Be confident leading groups of pupils independently

*

Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

*

Have excellent communication and organisational skills

*

Be passionate about supporting children's educational development
