Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) seeking a new challenge in the education sector? We are currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role to support schools across Wirral. This position offers a competitive daily rate of £100-£115, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Overview
The Higher Level Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to enhance the learning environment by taking responsibility for supervised learning activities. The role may involve planning, preparing, and delivering engaging activities for individuals, groups, or entire classes on a short-term basis. The HLTA will also be responsible for monitoring pupils' behaviour, assessing progress, and recording outcomes to assist in future planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting teachers with planning and delivering lessons tailored to pupils’ needs
* Providing individual and group support to students, including those with special educational needs (SEN)
* Monitoring and recording pupil progress accurately and maintaining clear reports
* Assisting in behaviour management and maintaining a positive learning environment
* Contributing to the development of personalised educational plans
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Hold HLTA training or equivalent qualification
* Demonstrate a keen interest and previous paid experience working with children
* Be open to ongoing training and professional development
* Show a proactive and dedicated work ethic
* Possess a good understanding of SEN and inclusive practices
* Be patient, understanding, and supportive in working with diverse learners
* Be able to work effectively as part of a team
Skills & Qualifications
* HLTA qualification or comparable experience
* Experience working in educational settings, ideally with children with SEN
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures in educational environments
* Ability to adapt to varying classroom needs and behavioural strategies
