Job Role: Senior Management Accountant

Location: Corby
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Immediate Requirement: Preference for candidates available at short notice

About the Role:
We are a well-established and rapidly growing organisation seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role presents a unique opportunity to influence financial strategy across both UK and international operations, collaborating closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to critical business decisions during a period of growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day finance operations, ensuring efficiency across both domestic and international activities.
- Prepare, raise, and manage sales invoices for subcontractor-led projects, ensuring accurate VAT treatment, pricing, margins, and billing integrity.
- Collaborate with operational teams to validate completed work, track project costs, and manage work in progress, profitability, and tax implications.
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including reconciliations, financial reporting, analysis, and necessary tax and VAT adjustments.
- Ensure VAT compliance by preparing and submitting VAT returns, adhering to both UK and international regulations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and uphold system integrity within Sage, ensuring correct tax coding and compliance with audit standards.
- Supervise the Accounts Assistant, reviewing transactional finance activities, with a focus on VAT and tax accuracy.
- Manage debtors and creditors, implementing effective credit control measures, overseeing cash collection, and processing supplier payments while considering VAT implications.
- Support year-end processes, collaborating with external accountants on corporation tax computations and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Lead payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee salaries, tax deductions, and compliance with payroll legislation.

Required Skills and Experience:
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA.
- Previous experience in a small finance team or in a standalone finance role.
- Proficient in Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs; experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting systems is essential.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge complemented by a solid commercial acumen.
- Confident in liaising with Directors and stakeholders across various business functions.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently.
- Willingness to support broader finance activities and contribute to process improvements.
