Salary: £100-£160 per day (dependent on experience)
Are you passionate about Science and looking to take the next step in your education career? Do you have experience working with young people and the confidence to lead lessons in a secondary school setting?
We are working in partnership with a supportive and ambitious secondary school in Northampton that is seeking an Unqualified Science Teacher to join its team from September 2026. The school is ideally looking to make a permanent appointment, although fixed-term and long-term supply arrangements will also be considered for the right candidate.
This opportunity would suit a Science graduate, experienced Cover Supervisor, Instructor, Tutor, or aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable classroom experience while developing their teaching skills.
The Role
Deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 using pre-planned and department resources
Support students in developing their understanding of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of different learners
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
Monitor student progress and provide feedback where appropriate
Work closely with the Science department to support curriculum delivery
Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in training opportunitiesThe Ideal Candidate
Has strong Science knowledge, ideally supported by a Science-related degree or qualification
Has previous experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring capacity
Is confident leading a classroom and engaging students in learning
Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills
Has a genuine passion for education and student success
Is keen to develop professionally and potentially progress towards teacher trainingWhat the School Offers
