Pay Rate: £120-£190 per day (based on experience and responsibilities)
Are you a Science graduate or aspiring educator looking to take your first step into teaching?
Do you have a passion for Science and enjoy helping young people develop their understanding through curiosity, investigation, and practical learning?
We are working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in Northampton that is seeking a Science Instructor to join their team from September 2026. The school is ideally looking for a permanent appointment, although long-term supply or fixed-term arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with an experienced Science department, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a well-structured and well-resourced school environment.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Delivering engaging and structured Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Supporting the planning and adaptation of lessons to meet different learning needs
Explaining scientific concepts in a clear, engaging, and accessible way
Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
Supporting students during practical experiments and independent learning tasks
Tracking student progress and providing feedback where appropriate
Contributing to departmental meetings, CPD, and wider school activitiesWho We're Looking For:
A Science-related degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Science, Environmental Science, or similar)
Experience working with young people in education, tutoring, coaching, or youth settings
Confident individuals able to lead a classroom and engage learners effectively
Strong communication skills and a proactive, adaptable approach
Enthusiastic team players with a genuine interest in education
Individuals considering teacher training routes such as PGCE, SCITT, or QTS apprenticeships
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain oneWhat You'll Gain:
