Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a specialist school setting?
We are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Stoke-on-Trent that supports pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with complex needs.
The school caters for pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including students who are non-verbal and require tailored communication and learning support.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SLD and ASC.
* Support non-verbal students using alternative communication methods and visual aids.
* Assist students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
* Work closely with class teachers, therapists, and support staff.
* Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
* Support personal care where required.
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience working with SEN pupils is desirable.
* Experience supporting individuals with Autism, SLD, complex needs, or non-verbal communication is highly advantageous.
* Backgrounds in care, support work, youth work, or residential settings will also be considered.
* Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
