Supply Desk is working in partnership with a supportive and well-regarded primary school in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, to recruit a dedicated and passionate Year 5 Teacher for a September start.
This role is ideal for a committed primary teacher who is enthusiastic about Key Stage 2 education, confident delivering engaging and creative lessons, and dedicated to supporting pupils’ academic progress and personal development as they prepare for the transition to upper KS2.
The Role
As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment, and supporting pupils in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum
Teaching a broad range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, and foundation subjects
Preparing pupils for end-of-year assessments and supporting progression into Year 6
Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Assessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
Differentiating lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and senior leaders
Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and the wider school community
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (preferably Year 5, though not essential)
(ECTs welcome with relevant primary teaching placements)
Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
A nurturing, engaging, and adaptable teaching style
Availability to start in September
Ability to commute to Amersham, Buckinghamshire
