The Role
As SENDCO, you will provide strategic leadership for SEND across the school, working collaboratively with staff, parents, governors, and external agencies to deliver outstanding outcomes for pupils with additional needs. You will be responsible for overseeing the identification, assessment, monitoring, and support of children with SEND while ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
The Successful Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Possess the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or be working towards achieving it.
Have proven experience supporting pupils with a wide range of SEND needs across the primary phase.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies.
Be skilled in developing, implementing, and reviewing effective SEN Support Plans.
Have experience working collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to secure the best outcomes for children.
Be confident in preparing high-quality applications for additional funding and support from Local Authorities and other agencies.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling positive relationships with pupils, families, staff, and external professionals.
Be capable of leading, supporting, and developing support staff to deliver high-quality interventions and provision.
Be highly organised, proactive, and committed to continuous professional development.
