Food Manufacturing
Some hygiene roles are about ticking boxes.
This isn't one of them.
We're working with a well-established food manufacturer that's looking for two Hygiene Team Leaders to join their day-shift operation. These are hands-on leadership positions where you'll be trusted to run your area, support your team, and play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and site hygiene.
You'll be leading a small team, working closely with Production, Engineering and Technical functions, and ensuring hygiene standards remain audit-ready every day.
If you're currently a Hygiene Supervisor, Team Leader, or an experienced Hygiene Operative who's already taking the lead and ready for the next step, this could be worth a conversation.
The Role
As Hygiene Team Leader, you'll take ownership of day-to-day hygiene activities across your designated shift.
You'll coordinate planned cleaning schedules, manage reactive hygiene requirements, support maintenance activities, and ensure all cleaning and verification processes are completed to the required standards.
This is a role where you'll be visible on the factory floor, leading by example, developing your team and driving standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and supporting a team of hygiene operatives
Coordinating cleaning activities around planned maintenance work
Responding to hygiene issues that impact production
Managing specialist and high-level cleaning activities
Delivering training, coaching and competency assessments
Maintaining hygiene records, verification checks and compliance documentation
Supporting internal and external audits
Driving continuous improvement initiatives across hygiene operations
Promoting a strong health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with COSHH and safe systems of work
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with people who have:
Previous hygiene experience within food manufacturing or FMCG
Experience leading a team, or strong experience stepping up into a supervisory capacity
A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and allergen controls
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering and Technical teams
The ability to remain organised and adaptable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
If you're looking for a role where you can make an impact, develop your leadership skills and be part of a business that takes food safety and hygiene seriously, we'd like to hear from you
