Shift Pattern Information
2 Shift Team Leaders required.
Shift A x 1 – 06.30 - Finish (Week 1: Sun, Mon, Tues, & Week 2: Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed)
Shift B x 1 – 06.30 - Finish (Week 1: Thurs, Fri, Sat, & Week 2: Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat)
The Opportunity
The Hygiene Team Leader (Days) will play a key role in leading an operative-level team and will be accountable for health & safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery standards within the area. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll coordinate and oversee day-to-day hygiene activities to ensure the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and compliance are consistently achieved. You’ll work closely with Production and Technical teams to plan cleaning around maintenance activities, support audits, and help drive continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the hygiene team to deliver scheduled and reactive cleaning activities across site
* Coordinate cleaning around planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and ensure areas are fully cleaned post-maintenance
* Support day-to-day production by responding promptly to hygiene-related issues
* Oversee high-level and specialist cleaning activities, ensuring correct equipment and safe systems of work are used
* Deliver on-the-job training, refresher training, and competency assessments for hygiene operatives
* Support onboarding of new starters and maintain accurate training records
* Ensure all hygiene documentation is completed accurately and on time, including cleaning schedules, swabbing, verification records, and titrations
* Carry out inspections and verification checks, escalating issues and supporting corrective actions
* Maintain audit-ready standards and support internal and external audits
* Monitor and report waste, damage, and hygiene-related issues, identifying improvement opportunities
* Champion health & safety, ensuring compliance with COSHH, safe systems of work, and PPE requirements
* Report hazards, accidents, and near misses and support corrective actions
* Support engagement with suppliers for hygiene equipment, servicing, and maintenance
Skills and Qualifications
* Previous hygiene experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment (essential)
* Experience leading a team or stepping into a supervisory role (essential)
* Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene best practice, and allergen control
* Good communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with Production and Engineering teams
* Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
