Sales Executive
Location: Walsall
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established infrastructure support and construction supply business based in Walsall and part of a larger group within the construction and civil engineering sector.
The business operates across the civil engineering, utilities, rail, highways, and major infrastructure industries. They are more than a traditional supplier, offering a comprehensive range of construction safety products, specialist equipment, fabrication, logistics, and operational support services to complex projects across the UK. Their customers are typically principal contractors and infrastructure organisations delivering large-scale engineering and construction works.
The Role
The Sales Executive is responsible for accurately processing and administering all customer orders and enquiries, while also driving revenue growth across key accounts. The role focuses on developing strong customer relationships, identifying opportunities for increased spend, and ensuring customer needs are fully understood and met to maximise account performance.
This is a proactive, customer-focused position combining account management, order processing, and sales development to support overall business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Account Growth & Revenue Expansion
Manage and develop a portfolio of key accounts to increase revenue and maximise customer spend
Identify new opportunities within existing accounts and promote the full product and service range
Achieve agreed targets for account growth, order conversion, and customer retention
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
Understand customer requirements and provide suitable product and service solutions
Ensure all customer interactions are accurately recorded in the CRM/system
Quotations & Opportunity Management
Prepare accurate and timely quotations, collaborating with senior stakeholders on larger opportunities
Track and follow up all quotations, capturing feedback to support continuous improvement
Order Processing & Administration
Process customer orders accurately and efficiently
Liaise with procurement, logistics, and stores to ensure smooth fulfilment
Manage the shared sales inbox, ensuring all requests are prioritised and actioned
Customer Service
Deliver high standards of customer service across all interactions
Resolve queries promptly and escalate where necessary
Provide delivery updates and manage any issues relating to stock or scheduling
Systems, Compliance & Process
Maintain accurate documentation and system records
Support returns, credit investigations, and associated processes
Follow internal procedures and contribute to process improvements

Achievement of monthly revenue and account growth targets
High levels of customer retention and repeat business
Accurate and timely order processing
Effective management of quotations and sales pipeline

Proven experience in a sales, account management, or customer-focused role
Strong ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
High level of accuracy and strong administrative ability
Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
Ability to handle high volumes of orders and enquiries
Strong customer service mindset and team collaboration skills
Desirable:
Experience within construction, infrastructure, or industrial supply sectors
