Are you electrically qualified and looking to build a long term career within the Building Management Systems (BMS) industry?
We are seeking a Trainee BMS Service Engineer to join a growing and supportive team, offering structured training and development towards becoming a fully qualified BMS Service Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with electrical knowledge who is keen to develop specialist skills within building controls, HVAC systems, and smart building technologies.
The Role
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will assist with the servicing, maintenance, and fault finding of Building Management Systems across a variety of commercial sites. You will gain hands-on experience in system commissioning, controls troubleshooting, planned maintenance, and software modifications while developing your technical expertise through ongoing training.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with the servicing and maintenance of BMS systems
Supporting commissioning, testing, and optimisation activities
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive service visits
Learning to diagnose electrical, controls, and communication faults
Assisting with controller replacements, upgrades, and software modifications
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
Completing service reports and maintaining accurate documentation
Working safely and following all health and safety procedures
Participating in structured training and development programmes
What We're Looking For
Valid UK Driving Licence
Electrically competent with a basic understanding of electrical systems
Good IT and communication skills
Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn
Team player with a positive attitude
Ability to travel to customer sites across your region
