Location: Oxford
Contract: Temporary contract (up to 6 months)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Are you an experienced Fabric Engineer looking for a temporary contract opportunity within a busy facilities environment? A leading organisation is seeking a skilled and reliable Fabric Engineer to support planned and reactive maintenance across their site.
As a Fabric Engineer, you will:
* Carry out general fabric maintenance and building repairs across the site.
* Complete general carpentry repairs including doors, locks, fixtures, fittings, and minor joinery works.
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
* Carry out routine compliance checks, including emergency lighting (EML) inspections and fire alarm checks.
* Respond to reactive maintenance requests and complete repairs in a timely manner.
* Undertake general facilities maintenance tasks, including plumbing-related issues such as unblocking toilets and minor repairs.
* Identify faults, report issues, and assist with maintaining a safe working environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Previous experience working as a Fabric Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Handyperson, or similar role.
* Strong practical skills across general building maintenance.
* Experience with carpentry, basic plumbing, and general repairs.
* Knowledge of PPM processes and compliance checks.
* A strong understanding of health & safety within a facilities environment.
