Fabric Maintenance Operative / Multi-Skilled Operative
Location: London and surrounding areas
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 (30-minute lunch break)
About the Role
We are seeking experienced Fabric Maintenance Operatives / Multi-Skilled Operatives to join our growing team. The successful candidates will primarily work across our education portfolios throughout London, with occasional travel to the Home Counties to provide cover during periods of sickness, annual leave, or operational requirements.
The role involves carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance works to a high standard across a diverse range of residential and educational properties. You will be responsible for maintaining building fabric and associated fixtures and fittings, both internally and externally, ensuring properties remain safe, compliant, and well-presented.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive building maintenance works.
Undertake repairs and refurbishment works across multiple sites.
Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and effectively.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Accurately record completed works using provided IT systems and devices.
Support colleagues and assist with wider maintenance activities as required.
Carpentry
Kitchen installation and fitting
Bathroom installation and refurbishment
Wet room installation, including shower trays and flooring systems
Plastering and making good
Hanging and adjusting doors, including fire doors
General building repairs and maintenance
Construction of partition walls
Dry lining
Toilet installation and replacement
Basic drainage works
Groundworks and external repairs
