Learning Support Assistant (SEN) - Colchester

Do you have the patience, enthusiasm, and compassion to help young people achieve more than they ever thought possible?

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Working closely with teachers and the SEND team, you will help pupils access learning, build confidence, develop independence, and celebrate success every day.

What You'll Do

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs
Help pupils engage positively in lessons and school life
Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
Contribute to EHCP outcomes and support plans

Passionate about supporting young people
A positive role model with excellent communication skills
Able to remain calm and flexible in a busy school environment
Committed to inclusion and helping every pupil succeed

Ideal Experience

Working with children or young people
Experience supporting SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or communication needs
Understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice
