The Role

As the successful Year 1 Teacher, you will:

Take responsibility for a Year 1 class from September 2026
Deliver engaging and creative lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
Support pupils as they transition from the EYFS framework into Key Stage 1
Deliver high-quality phonics teaching and early literacy development
Differentiate learning effectively to meet the needs of all learners
Work collaboratively with the parallel Year 1 teacher and wider KS1 team
Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleaguesThe school is seeking a teacher who understands the importance of strong foundations in Year 1 and can help pupils develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching within KS1 or strong KS1 teaching placements
Demonstrate strong knowledge of phonics and early reading development
Be an organised and reflective practitioner
Have high expectations for behaviour and achievement
Be committed to supporting all pupils to reach their potential
Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a teamApplications are welcomed from both ECTs and experienced teachers.
