Apprentice Teaching Assistant - EYFS & Year 1 Transition Specialist

Salary: £8-£12.71 per hour

Position Type: Full-time, 18-Month Apprenticeship Contract

Interviews: June / July 2026 | Start Date: September 2026

Are you looking to break into the education sector with a supportive, direct school contract?

We are currently recruiting an aspiring educator on behalf of a wonderful, one-form entry primary school in Lytham. More than just a standard job, this 18-month apprenticeship is a structured launchpad to becoming a fully qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant within a close-knit, values-driven "school family."

What this Apprenticeship Offers:

Fully Funded Level 3 Qualification: Earn your nationally recognised TA qualification while receiving a steady wage.
Secured School Contract: You will be employed directly by the school from day one, rather than working through an agency.
Guaranteed Training Time: Your weekly schedule includes two full afternoons set aside purely for your college coursework and portfolio.
Targeted Early Years Expertise: While qualified to support ages 4-11 upon completion, this specific role offers rare, specialist experience managing the jump from EYFS into Key Stage 1.

Daily Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities:

Working side-by-side with experienced class teachers, you will split your focus across a unique crossover role between the Early Years and Year 1 environments:

Bridging the Curriculum: Provide crucial support to Year 1 pupils who are continuing to work within the EYFS framework, helping them adapt smoothly to the new academic year.
Early Years Delivery: Assist in setting up and facilitating engaging, play-based learning environments.
Small Group Interventions: Run tailored, supportive activities for small groups of children to boost confidence and close learning gaps.
Learning Environments: Assist in crafting interactive, vibrant classroom displays that connect early years learning themes to Year 1.
Pastoral & Spiritual Support: Help foster the social, emotional, and holistic well-being of the children in line with the school's ethos.

Essential Criteria:

GCSE Prerequisites: Minimum Grade 4/C or equivalent in both GCSE English and Mathematics (Strictly Essential).
Core Values: High levels of patience, empathy, energy, and an adaptable approach to young children's needs.
Interpersonal Skills: Confident communicating clearly and warmly with young children, teaching colleagues, and families.
Timeline: Full commitment to an 18-month training pathway starting this September 2026.

Selection & Interview Timeline:

To ensure a great fit for both you and the school community, we are managing a supportive, two-part recruitment process throughout June and July 2026. This will give you the chance to visit the campus, see the classrooms in action, and meet the staff
