Salary: £1,800 - £2,200 per month

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings. You will play an important role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within a supportive school environment.

The role would suit candidates with previous SEN experience, school-based experience, or graduates looking to gain valuable experience in education, psychology, or child development.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN

Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development

Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence

Assist with targeted interventions and classroom activities

Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team

Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Requirements

Essential:

GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)

Experience working with children or within an SEN setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language needs

Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related subject

Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and interventions
