Mechanically bias Maintenance Engineer

Location: Market Drayton
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (7am-7pm & 7pm-7am - rotating days and nights)
Salary: £57,289 per annum + paid overtime at 1.5x

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanically Skilled Engineer to join a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This is a key position within a multi‑skilled engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving the performance, reliability, and safety of high‑speed production equipment.

You will also be given Electrical training courses and qualifications to become a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and repair fast‑moving, complex manufacturing equipment to minimise downtime
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related faults
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Work on pumps, valves, conveyors, and high‑speed machinery
Apply strong root cause analysis techniques to prevent recurring issues
Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance

About You

You will be an apprentice-trained engineer with strong experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment. You'll be confident working independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.

Essential Experience & Skills:

Proven experience in a multi‑skilled engineering role within a fast‑moving manufacturing or logistics environment
Strong mechanical and electrical engineering background
Experience working on high‑speed machinery, pumps, valves, and PLCs
Good working knowledge of filling and process technologies
Excellent problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills
Solid understanding of preventative maintenance techniques
Strong teamwork, communication, and cross‑functional working skills
