Position Overview
W Talent are seeking an experienced Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established maintenance team within a modern and highly automated manufacturing environment.
Operating on a three-shift rotating pattern, the successful candidate will provide multi-skilled engineering support across the site, with a particular focus on mechanical maintenance and fault finding. The role will involve a mixture of planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown support, and continuous improvement activities, ensuring equipment reliability and maximising operational performance.
This opportunity would suit an engineer with strong mechanical maintenance capabilities who is comfortable working across a range of production equipment and enjoys solving technical challenges within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Complete planned preventative maintenance activities in accordance with the site's maintenance schedules
Carry out mechanical and basic electrical fault finding across a wide range of manufacturing equipment
Respond to breakdowns efficiently, diagnosing root causes and implementing effective corrective actions
Maintain and improve the performance of production machinery and plant equipment
Work on mechanical systems including conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, pneumatics and associated equipment
Support the ongoing reliability and performance of automated manufacturing assets
Accurately record maintenance activities and equipment history through maintenance management systems
Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to maximise plant availability and operational efficiency
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with site health, safety and environmental procedures
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and improving equipment performance
Support root cause investigations and implementation of long-term engineering solutionsRequirements
Engineering qualification
Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias
Proven experience within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills
Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities
Knowledge of mechanical systems such as conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Positive and proactive approach to engineering and continuous improvementAdvantageous
Experience working within an automated manufacturing environment
Experience using CMMS or maintenance reporting systems
Knowledge of preventative maintenance and reliability-centred maintenance principles
Previous involvement in engineering improvement projects
