Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will become part of a skilled on-site engineering team responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support across a wide range of manufacturing equipment and site facilities.
This shift-based role requires a proactive and technically capable engineer with strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills, excellent fault-finding ability, and a commitment to maintaining high operational standards.
Shift Pattern
Rotating shifts every 2 weeks:
Day Shift: 05:45 - 18:15
Night Shift: 17:45 - 06:15Overtime opportunities are available.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across a broad range of manufacturing equipment.
Diagnose faults and perform reactive maintenance repairs to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Conduct maintenance and general repairs to site facilities and building fabric.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all required documentation.
Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and site performance.
Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and company procedures.
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to support overall site operations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this position, you must have:
A recognised apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical engineering.
A minimum Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, ONC, or equivalent).
BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
At least 5 years' experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Proven experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, including fault diagnosis and repair.
A strong understanding of health & safety legislation and engineering best practice.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A full UK driving licence due to shift patterns and site location.
Full Right to Work in the UK - sponsorship is not available for this role.
