Contract/Project
Are you someone who lights up when you help others thrive? Do you have patience, creativity, and a big heart? If so, we’ve got the perfect role for you! We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Mitcham. This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to change a student’s journey every single day.

Working with children with Special Educational Needs means no two days are ever the same. One day you’re celebrating a student’s first full sentence, the next you’re helping them build confidence, friendships, and independence. You will be there for those “small wins” every day.

Your role will include:

Supporting children with a range of SEN needs (ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, etc.)
Helping create a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment
Working closely with teachers and SENCOs
Encouraging confidence, independence, and social skills
Being a positive role model (and occasional superhero)

What we’re looking for:

A caring, patient, and positive attitude
Experience with children or SEN (professional or personal) is a plus
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for helping children succeed

What you’ll get:

A truly rewarding career where you see your impact every day

A supportive and experienced consultant guiding you throughout your journey

Opportunities for training and career progression
The chance to make a real difference in a child’s future
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.

We offer FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
