Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for a Project Engineer to work on their Energy from Waste Power Stations in Avonmouth and Cardiff. The main purpose of the role is to deliver engineering changes to increase the Maximum Continuous Rating of the plants.
The vital Project Engineer comes with a salary of up to c.£75,000 + car allowance + bonus + private healthcare + other benefits. This will be a 3-year Fixed Term Contract with the possibility of future opportunities in the wider business.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will be responsible for:
The main purpose of the role is to increase the Maximum Continuous Rating of the two ERF facilities
Working closely with OEMs, contractors, site teams and central engineering to develop technical solutions
Integrate projects into outages
Manage contractor performance
Ensure all works are complying with safety, quality and compliance standards
Attend HAZOP reviews as well as FAT's/SAT's which may involve travelling abroad
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Ideally HNC qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant engineering discipline
A project Management qualification would be desirable
An IOSH or NEBOSH Health and Safety Qualification would be desirable
A full UK driving licence as there will be travel involved to other sites
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Project Engineer role would suit someone who has:
Prior engineering/maintenance knowledge in heavy process engineering environments with power being the preference. Other industries may include paper mills, steel works, cement, refineries, etc
Good understanding of PSSR legislation
Experience in project management practices
Experience in managing contractors and delivering complex engineering projects
Knowledge of CMMS systems
ISO 55001 awareness would be ideal
