Manufacturing Operator

Location - Derby

Shift - Week 1: Monday–Thursday 06:00–14:00, Friday 06:00–13:00 & Week 2: Monday–Thursday 14:00–22:00, Friday 09:00–16:00

Salary - £31,000 – £33,900 per annum 12% shift allowance

A multi-skilled manufacturing operator responsible primarily for providing Power Press operational cover while supporting production continuity. The role also includes cross-functional support across surface treatment processes such as Paint, Degrease, and Berk Spray, enabling operational flexibility within a precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities for this Manufacturing Operator role:

Provide operational cover for Power Press activities as required.
Operate power presses in line with job operation cards and work instructions.
Set up tooling and dies, adjusting press parameters (stroke, tonnage) as needed.
Accurately interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Perform first-off and in-process inspection checks prior to quality inspection.
Ensure tooling is used correctly and maintained in serviceable condition.
Conduct minor machine maintenance and daily equipment checks.
Report defects, faults, or non-conformances promptly.Key Criteria for this Manufacturing Operator role:

Provide cover for surface treatment and finishing processes, including Paint, Degrease, and Berk Spray.
Follow all process specifications and quality standards.
Ensure correct handling, identification, and traceability of components.
Accurately complete production and quality records using internal systems (e.g., SFDC, Time & Attendance).
Support additional manufacturing operations as required.Education & Experience for this Manufacturing Operator role:

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, work cards, and specifications.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and proactive attitude.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good communication skills.
