SW Locums are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join the busy and dynamic Assessment Team at Cambridgeshire County Council, based at Noble House in Ely.

This is an excellent opportunity for a social worker who thrives in a fast-paced frontline environment and enjoys making a meaningful impact at the earliest stage of a child and family’s journey. Working within a supportive and collaborative service, you will carry out statutory assessments, undertake child protection enquiries, and contribute to plans that safeguard children and support families to achieve sustainable change.

What You Can Expect

Full-time locum contract with immediate start

Competitive pay rate capped at £39.00 per hour Umbrella

Hybrid working model with 2–3 days per week in the office

*

Office base at Noble House, Ely

Supportive management and established team structure

Key Responsibilities

*

Undertaking Child and Family Assessments

*

Managing a varied frontline caseload

*

Completing Section 47 enquiries and risk assessments

*

Working closely with partner agencies to safeguard children

*

Preparing clear and analytical reports for court and planning meetings

*

Building effective relationships with children, families, and professionals

*

Ensuring timely and outcome-focused interventions

About You

To be considered, you should have:

*

Social Work England registration

*

Proven experience within Children’s Services, ideally Assessment or Front Door teams

*

Strong assessment and analytical skills

*

Confidence managing statutory responsibilities in a busy team environment

*

Excellent communication and partnership-working abilities
