A specialist engineering manufacturer operating within a regulated, safety‑critical environment is looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Technician.

The role sits within the quality function and is focused on document control, traceability and build pack management across manufacturing activities. You’ll work closely with production, procurement and quality teams to ensure documentation is complete, accurate and audit‑ready for internal use and customer acceptance.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing and maintaining quality and production documentation, both electronic and physical

Controlling document issue, revision, tracking and change management (e.g. technical queries, change requests)

Ensuring all documentation is correctly formatted, numbered and revision‑controlled

Creating and maintaining a clear audit trail for project documentation

Supporting the compilation of manufacturing build packs and release documentation

Recording and verifying traceability data, including certifications and material records

Supporting customer acceptance documentation, including FAT packs

Liaising with internal teams across production, procurement and quality

Communicating with customer quality representatives when required

Supporting data updates within ERP or quality systems

There may be occasional involvement in inspection activity, but this is not the core focus of the role.

What you’ll need

Background in an engineering or manufacturing environment

Experience working with technical documentation, quality records or document control processes

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple documents and deadlines

Comfortable working across teams and handling internally and externally shared information

Basic IT skills, including use of ERP or quality systems

What's Desirable

Experience in defence, military or regulated manufacturing environments

Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AQAP standards

Familiarity with certificates of conformance, material certification or test documentation

Understanding of basic quality assurance processes and non‑conformance handling

What’s on offer

£45,000 per annum

Days role with a half‑day Friday

Enhanced pension (4% employee / 7% employer)

Life assurance and company sick pay, increasing with service

Employee Assistance Programme

Additional holidays and long‑service benefits

Cycle‑to‑work scheme

Free on‑site parking and EV charging

This is a permanent opportunity within a well‑established engineering business supporting defence programmes, offering long‑term stability and the chance to build experience within a structured quality environment.
