Highway Maintenance Engineer

Our client, is currently seeking a Highway Maintenance Engineer for a temporary contract.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing highway maintenance schemes to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations
Overseeing highway construction projects from planning through to completion
Ensuring adherence to health and safety standards specific to highway works
Implementing Chapter 8 and highway traffic management requirements effectively
Coordinating with various stakeholders to resolve issues and optimise project delivery
Providing technical guidance and support to junior staff
Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential problems
Reporting on project status and maintaining accurate documentation

Job Requirements:

Significant experience in managing highway maintenance schemes
In-depth knowledge of highway construction techniques and materials
Experience in highway health and safety practices
Proficiency in understanding Chapter 8 and highway traffic management requirements
Valid driving licence and access to a car
Ability to work on-site for three days a week and in the office for two days a week
Excellent communication and organisational skills
