Site Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a growing residential construction team delivering high-quality housing developments across Harlow and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale housing projects with a reputable contractor focused on quality, safety, and programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out accurate setting out for housing and residential infrastructure works

* Interpret technical drawings, site plans, and specifications

* Use GPS, total stations, and surveying equipment effectively

* Ensure all works are completed to required tolerances and quality standards

* Liaise with site managers, subcontractors, and design teams

* Conduct site surveys and maintain accurate records

* Monitor progress and assist with site coordination

* Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times

Requirements

* Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer within residential or housing developments

* Strong understanding of groundworks, roads, drainage, and plot works

* Proficient with surveying equipment and AutoCAD

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* CSCS card required

* Full UK driving licence

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable

* Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline

* Experience working with major housebuilders or residential contractors

* SMSTS or First Aid qualification beneficial
