As a Cook within the nursing home, you'll be responsible for preparing nutritious, home‑cooked meals that meet the needs of elderly residents, including those with specific dietary requirements.

✅ Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Plan and create varied, nutritional menus tailored to residents' needs and preferences.

Adapt meals for special diets (e.g. allergies, texture-modified diets, cultural needs)

Maintain food hygiene, safety and cleanliness standards (HACCP, COSHH)

Order stock, control supplies and minimise waste

Support or supervise kitchen staff where required

Cater for events and activities (e.g. birthdays, seasonal events)

👤 About the Candidate

Previous cooking experience (care home experience desirable)

Knowledge of food safety & nutrition

Ability to work in a resident-focused, caring environment

Good organisation, teamwork and communication skills
