Location: Blackpool
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in a supportive school environment in Blackpool, starting this September.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a meaningful impact on their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, both in and out of the classroom
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies
Assist with adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
Promote engagement, independence, and confidence in the pupil
Support emotional and behavioural development where required
Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff

Requirements

Essential: Previous experience working with children with SEN
Understanding of various needs such as ASD, ADHD, or additional learning needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA qualification) are desirable but not essential
