Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: London WC1B
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a large on-site engineering team. This is a client-facing role suited to a well-rounded and established engineer with strong mechanical expertise and a proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
You will be part of a team of 8- 10 engineers, contributing to the upkeep and smooth operation of a government buliding.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building systems
* Maintain and repair pumps, motors, and associated mechanical equipment
* Service and maintain HVAC systems, including AHUs
* Undertake plumbing maintenance and repairs
* Support maintenance of fire alarm systems and boilers
* Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions
* Liaise directly with the client, ensuring high standards of service delivery
* Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and site procedures
* Maintain accurate records of work completed
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a commercial or critical environment
* Strong all-round mechanical skillset (pumps, motors, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, etc.)
* Experience with AHUs and general building services systems
* Client-facing experience with strong communication skills
* Relevant qualifications: City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Ability to work independently and as part of a large team
