A supportive and progressive secondary school in Sefton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join their Design and Technology department. This is a full-time role with the opportunity to make a lasting impact and the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, if applicable) by delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons that develop essential culinary skills, nutrition awareness, and an understanding of food preparation, safety, and healthy living.
The Role
• Plan and deliver high-quality and engaging Food Technology lessons • Teach students practical cooking skills, food hygiene, nutrition, and healthy eating
• Maintain a safe, organised, and positive learning environment in the classroom and kitchen
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds (or is on track to achieve) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Degree in Food Technology, Hospitality, Nutrition, or a related subject
• Strong subject knowledge and passion for Food Education
• Ability to motivate and engage students in practical and theory-based learning
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
