Location: Nationwide
Salary: £45 – 55k per annum (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday–Friday,

Client

My client is a national Environmental Agency with over 20 years of experience. The core areas of the business are Asbestos Consultancy, Legionella Consultancy Services, and Fire Consultancy Services, across all sectors including Construction, Local Government, MOD, Education, Social Housing, Logistics, Manufacturing, and many more.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong technical experience in mould surveying and remediation who is ready to take ownership of a growing department.

Initially, you will personally carry out mould and damp surveys, produce detailed reports, and oversee or perform remedial treatments such as cleaning, fogging, and spore neutralisation.

As the division expands, you will recruit, train, and manage a team of surveyors and technicians, shifting your focus to operations management, quality control, and growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out professional mould and damp surveys using diagnostic tools and techniques.

* Produce accurate, detailed survey reports with clear recommendations.

* Oversee and, where required, conduct mould remediation works, including fogging, surface cleaning, and spore disinfection.

* Ensure root causes (condensation, leaks, ventilation issues, etc.) are properly identified and addressed.

* Manage and develop a team of surveyors and technicians.

* Drive the growth, performance, and profitability of the division.

* Maintain strong relationships with housing associations, landlords, and private clients.

* Ensure all works comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.

* Support recruitment, training, and the development of new service processes.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

* Proven experience in mould and damp surveying, remediation, or related property diagnostics.

* Strong operational and people management skills.

* Excellent understanding of condensation, damp, and mould causes and treatments.

* Experience with fogging and biocidal disinfection processes.

* High attention to detail with strong reporting and communication skills.

* Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

* Completion of a Dew Point / Condensation & Damp Diagnosis course or equivalent qualification.

* Knowledge of building pathology, ventilation systems, and moisture control.

* Experience in social housing, property compliance, or environmental health.
