About the Job
As a Part-Time Functional Skills Tutor, you will deliver engaging and effective Functional Skills lessons in English and/or Maths to learners from a variety of backgrounds and ability levels. You will play a key role in supporting learners to achieve their qualifications, build confidence, and progress towards their career goals.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Planning and delivering high-quality Functional Skills sessions
* Supporting learners to develop their English and Maths skills
* Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback
* Creating engaging lesson plans tailored to individual learning needs
* Monitoring attendance, progress, and achievement levels
* Maintaining accurate learner records and documentation
* Providing encouragement and support to help learners stay motivated
* Ensuring teaching delivery meets quality and compliance standards
This is a part-time position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work within a rewarding educational environment.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and committed to delivering positive learner outcomes. You will be confident in engaging learners and adapting your teaching style to suit different needs and abilities.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths
* A recognised teaching or training qualification
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience supporting learners with varying abilities and backgrounds
* The ability to motivate and inspire learners
* Good organisational and administrative skills
* A learner-focused and supportive approach
* Experience within further education, employability, apprenticeships, or training environments would be advantageous
