Psychology Graduate - Mental Health Assistant

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience supporting vulnerable children and young people?

A welcoming specialist school in Oxford is seeking a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Assistant to join their team ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates interested in psychology, counselling, therapy, social work, mental health, or education.

You will support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced adverse childhood experiences and require consistent, nurturing support to help them thrive both emotionally and academically.

The Role

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
Help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies
Support students during lessons and therapeutic interventions
Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, supportive learning environment
Build positive relationships with vulnerable young people and act as a trusted adult role model
