Overview:
The Louisiana Legislative Auditor is seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. Reporting directly to the Legislative Auditor and receiving oversight from the First Assistant Legislative Auditor. The CFO will manage the accounting section, ensuring strong internal controls, adherence to regulations, and efficient financial management.
Responsibilities:
Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, and receivables.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Develop and implement financial strategies, internal controls, and policies.
Provide accurate and timely financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in presenting financial information to the Legislature as needed.
Supervise and mentor the accounting team, ensuring optimal performance.
Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and financial entities.
Qualifications:
Must have and maintain an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the State of Louisiana, and
Must exhibit a history of continuing professional education requirement, with an emphasis on governmental accounting and financial matters, and
Must agree to continue such professional educational requirements as described above, subject to review and approval by the Legislative Auditor, and
Must have at least 5 years experience in accounting, auditing, and/or financial management. Experience in Louisiana state government preferred. At least 1 year experience must include supervisory responsibilities.
