Renal Dialysis Nurse – Scotland – 12-Month Contract
* Location: Scotland
Start Date: March 2025
Rates:
* Weekdays: £28 per hour
* Weeknights & Saturdays: £35 per hour
* Sundays: £40 per hour
* About the Role:
* We are seeking an experienced Renal Dialysis Nurse for a 12-month contract in a remote and rural Hospital Dialysis Unit in the Scottish Highlands. This Nurse-Led Unit operates independently under a dialysis hub-and-spoke model, with consultant support from another health board. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a two-chair standalone dialysis unit, ensuring high standards of care for a defined patient group.
* Key Responsibilities:
* * Independently manage the dialysis unit, assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans
* Perform technical/invasive/physical aspects of haemodialysis treatment
* Ensure safe operation of Fresenius 5008 dialysis machines (including offline saline prime/washback procedures)
* Work autonomously with no other renal-trained staff on site
* Requirements:
* * Minimum 2 years’ renal/haemodialysis experience (preferably Band 6 level)
* Ability to work independently in a remote setting
* * Sound knowledge of Fresenius 5008 dialysis machines
* * Scottish PVG required (Scotland's version of a DBS check)
* Additional Information:
* The unit previously operated Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but additional shifts in Campbeltown Hospital wards may be available for those seeking full-time hours
No staff accommodation available – candidates will need to arrange their own
