We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer with active SC clearance for an exciting contract opportunity based in London. You will be part of a dynamic team working on critical data projects, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of cloud-based data pipelines and solutions. This role involves a hybrid work model, requiring 1 days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable AWS-based data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency in AWS environments.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in accordance with industry best practices and SC clearance standards.
• Work with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, DynamoDB, and Kinesis.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance protocols as per organizational and government standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing, storage, and integration.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Active SC Clearance is essential.
• Proven experience as an AWS Data Engineer in a secure or government environment.
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services like Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda, and Athena.
• Proficient in Python or Scala for data engineering tasks.
• Experience with ETL tools, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
• Familiarity with data modelling, data lakes, and Real Time streaming (eg, Kinesis).
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of data security, compliance, and governance in line with SC-cleared environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QuickSight.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
