Workday HCM Lead
3 Month Contract
Part Time (2 Day a week)
Location: Home Based/London
Rate: £500 - £530 per day (INSIDE IR35)

We are looking to recruit a Workday HCM Lead for a leading public sector organisation based in London. Our client has recently implemented Workday HCM and they are looking for a systems specialist play a pivotal role in optimising and managing their Human Capital Management (HCM) system within Workday.

This is a part time role working 2 days a week.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the development and enhancement of Workday HCM to support strategic HR initiatives and organisational goals.

The Workday HCM Lead will be responsible for the successful management, optimisation, and strategic development of the Workday system, ensuring it meets user needs across the entire organisation. You will work closely with HR, IT, and Finance teams, as well as external stakeholders, to enhance system functionality, improve reporting, and drive engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workday HCM Management: Oversee the daily running of Workday HCM, ensuring it operates effectively and aligns with business needs.
  • System Development: Define and implement a strategic development pipeline, working closely with IT and Finance teams.
  • Process Documentation & Compliance: Maintain process documentation and ensure GDPR compliance for HR data security.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (including Workday, Kainos, and CGI) to enhance system functionality.
  • Data & Reporting: Develop and deliver HR dashboards, statutory reporting, and data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Training & Capability Building: Mentor Workday Leads across HR functions and provide training to ensure optimal system use.
  • Workday Releases & Enhancements: Lead Workday's biannual release cycle for HCM, ensuring updates align with business needs.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven expertise in Workday HCM configuration and optimisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in HR data reporting and dashboard creation.
  • Advanced IT skills, including data manipulation, reporting, and HR systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and the employee life cycle.
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
