Senior Cloud Engineer

Toyota GB (Working for TLP seconded onsite to Toyota)

£75-90,000 + package

TLP have been working with Toyota (GB) PLC for over 25 years and are a trusted partner.

Due to expansion and to increase team knowledge they require a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join their systems team.

Working as part of a cross-functional Platform Engineering team as a practitioner in demonstrating cloud engineering excellence with agility. You'll deliver high-quality, high-availability Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, with consistent focus on customers, business value and technical excellence.

As a senior member of the team, you will be a mentor to others, supporting and developing them to both achieve delivery goals and to progress in their careers. You will contribute your expertise to cross-team initiatives, peer reviews and communities of practice.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain secure, scalable Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure .
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, ensuring smooth deployment processes.
  • Use Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) tools like ARM/Bicep to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like Azure Monitor and Log Analytics .
  • Work closely with network and security specialists to maintain secure and compliant cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell to automate tasks and streamline operations.
  • Collaborate with application and data teams to ensure optimal integration and performance of cloud services.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate disaster recovery strategies to ensure high availability and resilience.
  • Implement and optimise core governance processes and policies.
  • Implement best practices for monitoring, alerting and incident management to maintain high availability and performance.

Technology Stack:

You will have a diverse skill set covering several Scripting/programming languages, platforms and technologies however recent experience with the following is highly desirable:

  • Cloud Platform: Microsoft Azure
  • Azure Services: Entra, Log Analytics, Blob Storage, Virtual Machines, Key Vault, Data Factory, Databricks, SQL
  • Azure Mgmt: Advisor, Monitor, Policy, Cost Management, Backup, Defender
  • Azure Network: VNET, VPN, DNS, Firewall, Peering, Private Link, NSG
  • Development & Scripting: Powershell, ARM/Bicep, YAML, Python
  • CI/CD: Azure DevOps, Atlassian Suite, GitHub

Technical Skills:

  • Cloud engineering & automation covering requirements, design, development, test & deployment.
  • Strong skills in Azure DevOps and CI/CD processes
  • Proficiency using Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Implementing Azure networking & security best practices
  • Administration of Microsoft Entra for managing identities and permissions
  • Good working knowledge across technology stack areas.
  • Implementing cloud platform technologies to run data & analytics workloads.
