Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on SC cleared IT Office Relocation Technician to assist with the relocation of workspaces from one floor to another. This role involves patching network cables, dismantling and reassembling desks, and ensuring that all IT equipment is properly reconnected and operational post-move. A key part of the job will also include conducting a floor-walk to verify that all workstations are set up correctly and troubleshoot any outstanding issues.
Key Responsibilities
Dismantle desks, workstations, and peripherals safely and efficiently
Transport and reassemble desks, chairs, and IT equipment in the new location
Ensure proper cable management for a clean and organized setup
Patch network cables following structured cabling standards
Label, organize, and test network connections to ensure proper connectivity post-move
Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues as needed
Disconnect and reconnect computers, monitors, docking stations, and telephony devices
Verify that all devices function correctly after reinstallation
Perform a floor-walk to inspect all workstations after the move
Ensure users have the correct setup and address any reported issues
Identify and resolve any connectivity, hardware, or configuration problems
Required Skills & Qualifications
SC clearance is mandatory
Experience with network cabling
Basic understanding of IT hardware and peripherals
Hands-on experience with office furniture assembly/disassembly
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely
