IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Developer/COGNOS
We are looking for an experienced IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Developer to join our team on a contract basis to help optimise our FP&A landscape. We are currently embarking on an exciting transformation programme and this role will give the right candidate the opportunity to get involved from an early stage.
The candidate will be taking responsibility for the development and maintenance of IBM PA (incl PAW) solutions within the project pipeline. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, working well on their own as well as with a team, be comfortable with the complete implementation life cycle for development projects within the project pipeline, as well as undertaking continual service improvement. The candidate will need to work with the business to understand and build out specific development requests from the project pipeline.
Job Duties
- System Assistance: Help develop and maintain the IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) system, including tasks like requirement gathering, analysis, design, testing, deployment, maintenance, and documentation.
- Support the provision of accurate and timely analysis.
- Work in partnership with cross functional teams and product enhancements in line with best practice.
- Collaborate with the wider Finance team to identify requirements and recommend solutions which support business needs and management reporting as part of the transformation project.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business logic and identify opportunities for system improvements.
Required Expertise
- TM1 Development: Skilled in TM1 Perspectives/Architect, including cubes, dimensions, advanced TI processes, rules, dynamic reporting (active forms), and workflows.
- Data Knowledge: Understanding of data modelling and warehousing principles.
- FP&A Familiarity: Knowledge of financial planning and analysis activities.
- UI/UX Principles: Strong understanding of user interface and experience design.
- SQL Skills: Competent in SQL for querying databases and creating ETLs and reports.
- MDX Proficiency: Skilled in MDX for building dynamic subsets and views.
- Development Practices: Familiar with development life cycle, TM1 coding best practices, and change management.
- IBM Planning Analytics: Proficient in IBM Planning Analytics for Excel (PAX) and Workspace (PAW).
- Reporting Knowledge: Building reports and dashboards within PA and experience with IBM Cognos Analytics is a plus.
Experience
- TM1 Development: Over 5 years of experience in TM1 development
Personal Qualities
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Process Improvement: Actively seeks opportunities to enhance and automate processes.
- Customer Support: Excellent skills in supporting end users.
- Communication: Clear and concise communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Although based in Bedfordshire, hybrid working is available.
