API Integration Technical Lead

Bristol- onsite 2 - 3 days a week

£85,000-£110k + bonus 10-15%

The Role: As part of a multi-million pound digital transformation Programme the business is seeking an experienced API Integration Technical Lead as part of a newly created centralise Integration team.

As the API Integration technical lead you will manage a team of API engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable APIs, shaping the API architecture, and driving technical direction.

API Integration Technical Lead Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor API engineers.
  • Define and enforce coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API requirements.
  • Design scalable API architectures.
  • Hands-on coding and implementation of APIs.
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain code quality.
  • Create and maintain API documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assess future API management and integration tools.

Requirements:

  • Self-starter with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a technical lead in API development.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js.
  • Knowledge of API design principles, RESTful architecture, and microservices.
  • Experience with low code API technologies like Boomi and SnapLogic.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
