Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an IT Device Deployment Engineer for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £197/day (Inside IR35). This role will be based onsite in Edinburgh - may be required to work occasionally from the Glasgow office.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and coordinate the initiative to refresh ~650 laptops through the full cycle from build through kit swap, user handholding, to asset return and disposal.
- Manage and coordinate the replacement of ~100 displays
- Complete Goods Inwards process and flow for the initiatives
- Detects and reports discrepancies, shortages, or damage promptly
- Addresses inventory challenges (eg, locating misplaced items and dealing with any shortages).
- Keeps the stockroom and storage areas clean, organised, and well-labelled.
- Application of asset tags where required following the asset inventory process
- Post-deployment support of users who have had their laptop refreshed to resolve problems
- Knowledge share with ServiceDesk colleagues
- Ensure asset register is maintained and accurate
- Update asset handling SOPs to optimise asset flow and ensure data accuracy
- Ensure the Inventory Management locations are managed effectively
- Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of operating systems and appropriate software.
- Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
- Ensure optimal performance of devices.
- Coordinates effectively with other departments and service/product owners - procurement, ServiceDesk and OPs, Employee enablement product owner
- Adherence to occupational health and safety guidelines as this role will involve the manual handling of a significant number of IT assets.

Essential Skills:

- Demonstratable experience of utilising the Service Now Platform for task and asset management, deploying Windows 11 devices in a corporate government environment, laptop build and application deployment using Intune and SCCM and Microsoft Office 365 suite
- Experience With HP EliteBook Laptops
- Excellent customer service, for all user support types
- Able to escalate issues where possible
- Be able to communicate verbally and written standard operating procedures
- PAT Testing experience and certification
- Hardware Inventory Management experience of End User IT equipment
- Experience creating rollout and asset management plans including technical design, logistics, governance and risk considerations, and training requirements. Ability to present proposals to all levels of the organisation.
- Experience of working within a mature agile team where trust, communication, collaboration, forward thinking, workload visualisation and constructive challenge are key attributes
- Be an evangelist for our chosen technology to bring stakeholders on-side
- Create and maintain service documentation.
- ITIL(R) Foundation Certification in IT Service Management
