Job Title: Vehicle Damage Assessor

Location: Darlington
Salary: £43,000 OTE

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor to join our clients team. You’ll play a key role in assessing vehicle damage, ensuring repair processes are efficient, and helping deliver excellent customer service, while contributing to a profitable repair operation.

Key Responsibilities
Independently prepare detailed manual and computerized estimates based on customer and insurance company requirements.
Supervise and mentor non-qualified technicians to ensure high standards of work.
Coordinate with body shop staff to ensure all repair instructions are understood and followed accurately
Complete estimates under the direct supervision of a qualified technician.
Maintain accurate records for all estimates and track unauthorized work until proper authorization is received.
Assist in managing parts orders and ensure timely, accurate delivery, including inspecting parts for quality and suitability before use.
Communicate effectively with insurance companies, customers, and workshop staff to ensure seamless repair processes
Ensure all work adheres to Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
Manage and track parts inventory to ensure proper stock levels for repairs.
Handle additional tasks as required by the senior management team based on operational needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor with at least 3 years in a similar role.
Strong technical knowledge of vehicle repair processes and parts.
Ability to mentor and lead a team, ensuring high standards of work.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Previous experience in vehicle assessment is preferred but not essential.
Strong willingness to learn and develop skills under supervision.
