Application Engineer - DV and NPPV3 Cleared - £650 per day via Umbrella - 8 months contract - Birmingham (Onsite) - SCC Flex Contract

We're seeking a DV and NPPV3 Cleared Application Engineer to join our client to deal with service requests, changes, problems and incidents as part of a Tire 2 team.

Your Responsibilities as the Application Engineer:

• Working within a service team monitoring components such as web Servers, applications Servers, log files, disk space and MS-SQL databases
• Maintaining Middleware such as: IIS, MS-SQL Server, Active Directory, ASP and. NET, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, basic querying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Report writing with tools such as PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML and SQL.
• Working as part of a second line support function following incident management through to incident resolution.
• Ensuring the entire application estate aligns within Application Lifecycle Management.
• Working with third party suppliers, stakeholders and departmental ICT teams to help deliver patch/release of applications while coordinating vendor support.
• Identify and register incidents, gather required information, and allocate them to the appropriate channel.

As a successful Application Engineer, you will have:

• Active DV and NPPV3 clearance
• Development experience with C#, .NET, ASP .NET
• Strong experience in writing and executing complex SQL queries
• Experience with PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML and SQL.
• Familiarity with stored procedures, views, functions, SQL jobs for Microsoft SQL databases.
• Ability to read and analyse application logs to identify issues and escalate as necessary.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide root cause analysis of problems and viable solutions, including appropriate mitigations.
