Data Cabling Field Engineer- installation, maintenance, testing,Copper and Fibre

You will require a strong understanding and hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems (both Copper and Fibre) that support data and voice networks, adhering to internationally recognised standards.

This role involves working in various environments to ensure reliable and efficient connectivity for different organisations. You will be working across a number of customer sites across the UK, travel and overnight stays are required.

Skills and Requirements

Installation and Termination:

  • Install and terminate copper and fiber optic cabling for data and voice networks.
  • Perform cabling tasks, including pulling, labelling, patching, and testing.
  • Mount and secure network devices such as Switches, patch panels, and Routers.
  • Installing various types of conduit and metal containment systems, such as cable trays and baskets.

System Testing and Troubleshooting:

  • Use diagnostic tools (Fluke) to test and certify network cabling for performance and compliance with standards.
  • Identify and resolve connectivity issues in structured cabling systems.

Maintenance and Documentation:

  • Conduct regular maintenance of installed cabling infrastructure to ensure long-term reliability.
  • Update network documentation, including cable pathways, rack layouts, and labelling systems.
